Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Audyssey ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our app. By creating an account and using Audyssey, you agree to the practices described below.

Information We Collect

Account information: Your email address, name, and authentication details when you register or sign in (including via Google or other social providers).

Profile information: Details you choose to add to your profile, such as a profile photo, location, age, favorite songs, and preferred music app (Spotify or Apple Music).

Listening activity: The albums you listen to, your ratings, written reviews, favorite tracks, listen dates, and any albums you skip — the content you create as you move through the 500-album journey.

Social activity: Friend requests you send or receive, your friends list, and the achievements you earn.

Usage data: Standard technical information such as device type and interaction logs, used to keep the app running and improve the experience.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide the Audyssey experience: serving your daily album, saving your ratings and reviews, tracking your progress and streaks, awarding achievements, and showing you community stats.

We use your email and name to identify your account, display your public profile, and send you friend-request notifications and optional daily-album reminders.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

What Others Can See

Your public profile shows your name, profile photo, favorite songs and artists, preferred music app, achievements, and the number of albums you've listened to.

Your detailed ratings, reviews, and listening history are visible to your accepted friends and to you. Your location and age are only shown to your accepted friends.

Aggregated, anonymized community statistics (such as average ratings) may be shown across the app and never reveal your individual identity.

Third-Party Services

To enrich album information, Audyssey retrieves metadata and artwork from Apple Music, Spotify, and Last.fm. When you link your Spotify account for in-app playback, authentication is handled directly between you and Spotify under Spotify's own privacy terms.

These services are governed by their respective privacy policies. We only send them the information necessary to fetch album data or enable playback.

Data Retention

Your listening activity, reviews, achievements, and social connections are kept for as long as your account is active so your journey is preserved. You can delete your ratings, reviews, and friend connections at any time within the app.

Your Choices

You can edit or remove profile details, ratings, and reviews at any time. You can unfriend other users and manage friend requests from your Friends page. To request full account deletion, contact us through the Contact page.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including restricting access to your private data so only you and your accepted friends can see it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.

Children's Privacy

Audyssey is intended for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Audyssey evolves. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
